Timothy Gordon Deborde

On Wednesday, April 26, 2023 our Lord and Savior claimed one of his saints. Mr. Timothy Gordon DeBorde passed away quietly at Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson from complications of COPD. Tim was born November 2, 1956 in Surry County to Dallas and Thelma Fallin DeBorde.

Tim was a lifelong member of Elkin Valley Baptist Church and loved the Lord with all his heart. He was an honored nurse in the community for 25 years. He started his service to the Lord in 1997 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital then moved to Hugh Chatham Nursing Center. He worked 3 years at Willowbrook Nursing in Yadkinville before retiring in 2019 from Pruitt Healthcare in Elkin.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a nephew, Shane Newman and uncles, Ocie Fallin and Jim DeBorde.

Survivors include: his wife of 25 years, Sharron Louise DeBorde of the home; sister, Sylvia Nicholson and husband Audi; stepson, Mark A. Mayes and wife Priscilla; stepdaughter, Sabrena Mayes Hemric and husband Chad; grandchildren, Ashley Hemric, Lauren Hemric Haley Hemric, Destiny Mayes and Mark Matthew Mayes; a best friend of 40 years, Gordon Jones.

A graveside service will be conducted Sunday, April 30, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Elkin Valley Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Cameron Gaddy officiating. A memorial service will follow in the Elkin Valley Baptist Church Sanctuary. Tim will lie-in-state Saturday, April, 29, 2023 from 5:00- 7:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service. The family will receive friends following from 7:00-8:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family for help with the medical expenses.
