Vickie Ray Byrd

Mrs. Vickie Ray Byrd, age 73 of Thurmond passed away Saturday, February 24, 2024.

Vickie was born November 1, 1950, to Ray and Hessie Waters Church.  She was a member of Jonesville First Baptist Church. She retired from Elkin Elementary School.

Vickie was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband John Byrd of the home; sons, Ross Byrd of Dobson, Seth Byrd and Misha of Holly Springs, NC; brother, Larry Church of Elkin; granddaughter, Florence Byrd and several other family members.

A memorial service will be conducted Friday, March 1,  2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Elkin Funeral Service.
