Vivian Tharpe Settle

Mrs. Vivian Ann Tharpe Sette, age 66, of Roaring Gap passed away Thursday, September 30, 2021 at her home. Mrs. Settle was born December 18, 1954 to William David and Annie Lee Holloway Tharpe of Ronda.

Mrs. Settle was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and employed in Human Resources with Lowe’s. She was a graduate of East Wilkes High School and a licensed auctioneer. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Janet Tharpe Wingler.

Survivors include: her loving husband of 48 years, SFC (Ret.) Harley Settle of the home; son, David Settle and wife Diane Baker Settle of Thurmond; daughter, Amanda Grai Settle and husband Jon of Elkin; grandchildren, Courtney Settle, Colton Settle, Trinity Settle and Tucker Settle.

A funeral service will be conducted Sunday, October 3, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
