Walter "Walt" Lee Welborn

Mr. Walter “Walt” Lee Welborn, age 54, passed away Saturday, August 29, 2020 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.  Mr. Welborn was born October 26, 1965 in Wilkes County to Lee and Mary Louise Martin Welborn, Jr. He was retired from LP in Roaring River and attended First United Presbyterian Church in Boonville.  Mr. Welborn was a dedicated and loving husband and father.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Brinson Welborn and sisters, Stacy Welborn and Deborah Welborn.

Survivors include: his wife, Tujuana P. Welborn of the home; son, Jarius Welborn of the home; sister, Grace Welborn Barnes; brother-in-law, Dennis Porter and his wife Carolyn; sisters-in-law, Cynthia Russell and her husband Richard and Jada Ganzzermiller and her husband Joe; and aunts and uncles, Sadie Parks, Eugene Martin, Lillie Grinton, Reginia Lindsey Herring, Ruth Martin, Robert Martin and Lee Martin. Godchildren, Conchata Johnson, Da'Sean Brown, and Sha'Dona Brown, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

A graveside service will be conducted Friday, September 4, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at First United Presbyterian Church in Boonville with Rev. Sam Puryear and Rev. Eugene Martin officiating. Mr. Welborn will lie-in-state at Elkin Funeral Service Thursday, September 3, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
