Willa Jean Key

Mrs. Willa Jean Sparks Key, age 82, of State Road passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at Wilkes Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Key was born August 30, 1939 in Wilkes County to Carl and R.V. Church Sparks.

Mrs. Key was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church and past member of West Elkin Baptist Church. She retired from Chatham Manufacturing with over 30 years of service.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Bill Sparks and Hugh Sparks.

Survivors include: her husband, Bobby Zebedee Key of the home; daughters, Tammie Key of Wisconsin, Denise Rector and her husband Lane of Elkin; a son, James Key and his wife Avery of Magnolia, TX brother, Jack Sparks of Kernersville; grandchildren, Kelsey Singh and her husband Spencer, Ashlen Rector, and Gage Phillips.

A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Poplar Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Chad Whitley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
