Mr. Willie Lee Carter, age 86, of State Road passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Carter was born October 14, 1934 in Surry County to Watson M. and Stella Carter.

Mr. Carter attended Fall Creek Baptist Church where he sang in the choir. He retired from Chatham Manufacturing; and was an avid reader and walker. Mr. Carter was a loving and devoted husband.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Eloise Carter; brothers, Bobby Carter, Billy Frank Carter, Lloyd Carter, and Blake Carter.

Survivors include: his loving wife of 40 years, Toni M. Carter of the home; sister, Geraldine Nicholson of Elkin; sisters-in-law, Emma Jean Carter, Peggy Ann Carter, Billie Jo Carter, Gail Carter; several nieces and nephews; and special pet Brownie.

A private funeral service will be conducted at Fall Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Don Hudson and Mr. Tristan Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Carter will lie-in-state Saturday, November 21, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service. The family requests that masks be worn for all services.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Fall Creek Baptist Church Building Fund, 3345 Fall Creek Church Rd, Jonesville, NC 28642.

The family would like to thank the staff of Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital, Forsyth Medical Center ICU and palliative care for their support and care.
