Wilson Blankenship

Mr. Wilson DL Blankenship, age 78, of Elkin passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home. Mr. Blankenship was born May 3, 1944 in West Virginia to Wallace Blankenship and Ada Pennington.

Mr. Blankenship attended Charity Hill Baptist Church and was a retired deputy with the Buchanan County, VA Sheriff’s Department.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Helen Phelps and Marie Greer.

Survivors include: his daughters, Deborah Casstevens of Elkin, Brenda Wilcox and her husband Bill of Elkin; sister, Mildred Fredrick of Elkton, MD; grandchildren, Kayla Wilcox and Austin Wilcox.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Monday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Terry Keen officiating. Interment will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Billy Wilcox, Austin Wilcox, Larry Dotson, and Travis Dotson. Honorary pallbearers will be the Staff of the Buchanan County Sheriff’s Department. The family will receive friends on Monday from 12 – 1 PM at Honaker Funeral Home.
