Arvil Grady Luffman, Sr.

Mr. Arvil Grady Luffman, Sr. age 84, passed away Friday, October 7, 2022 at his residence.  Mr. Luffman was born July 19, 1938 in Wilkes County to Grady and Maude Dula Luffman.

Arvil loved gardening and sharing his harvest with his friends and family.  He also loved to fish and ride his John Deere Gator.  Arvil was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife and mother of his children, Sue Spencer Luffman, three brothers, Haston, Fred and Clyde Luffman, two sisters, Opal Southard and Helen Carter.

Survivors include, his wife, Irene Luffman of the home, a son, Arvil Luffman, Jr and wife Angela, daughters, Sandra Swain and husband Ricky, Dawn Burton and husband Mike, grandchildren, Cory Swain and wife Heather, Shana Reinhardt and husband Eric, Brittany Simmons and husband Aaron, Marley Burton and Abby Soots, Adam Luffman and Jamison Boles, Landon Luffman and fiancée Laura, great grandchildren, Sophie Reinhardt, Mia Reinhardt, Arys Reinhardt, Emerson Simmons, Boston Simmons.  Two stepsons, Bill Colvard, Doug Colvard and wife Tammy, a stepdaughter, Glenda Billings and husband James, six step grandchildren, fifteen step great grandchildren.  two brothers, Bill Luffman and wife Nell, Dwayne Luffman and wife Linda, a sister, Jean Pardue and husband Kenneth.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, October 9, 2022 at 3:00 pm at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Joseph Wood and Dr. Danny Dodds officiating.  Burial will follow in Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00pm at the church prior to the service.
