Bobby Hudspeth

Mr. Robert Blaine “Bobby” Hudspeth, age 87, of State Road passed away Monday, February 14, 2022 at his home. Mr. Hudspeth was born May 18, 1934 in Surry County to Clyde Taylor Hudspeth, Sr. and Violet Piercy Hudspeth.

Mr. Hudspeth was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church and retired from the North Carolina Department of Transportation with 30 years of service.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Clyde Hudspeth, Jr. and David Hudspeth.

Survivors include: his loving wife, Janie Southard Hudspeth of the home; son, Steve Hudspeth and his wife Kim; daughter, Holly Hudspeth Dudley and her husband Steve; four grandchildren, Neil Hudspeth and his wife Jennifer, Cory Hudspeth, Lauren Dudley, and Blaine Dudley; three great-grandchildren, Maggie Hudspeth, Allie Hudspeth, and Sydnie Hudspeth.

A graveside service will be conducted Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Mountain Park Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. John Attaway, Rev. Russ Nixon, and Rev. Dylan Cook officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 688 N. Bridge St., Elkin, NC 28621.

The family would like to thank Susan Anthony, Wanda Clark, Pennie Haynes, and Robin Martin, four special caregivers, for their love and care for our Dad. Also we would like to thank Dr. Kesi Kindle-Suersin and the staff of Yadkin Valley Adult Medicine; Ramona Pardue, Denise Lovett, and the team at Mountain Valley Hospice for their support and care.
