Brenda Scott

Mrs. Brenda Sue Layell Scott, age 70, of Elkin passed away Monday, February 10, 2020 at Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home. Mrs. Scott was born November 22, 1949 in Yadkin County to William Haston and Pernie Brown Layell.

Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by her brother, James Layell and sister, Susie Layell.

Survivors include: her husband, Phillip Scott of the home; son, Darrick Scott and wife Jeri of Ronda; daughters, Kristie Stanley and husband Randy of Elkin, Misty Jones and husband Jody of Ferguson; parents, Haston and Pernie Layell; sisters, Janice Shermer of State Road, Connie Harris and husband Craig of Ronda, Bonnie Russell and husband Wayne of Ronda; six grandchildren, Leighton Adams, Samantha Adams, Aran Wood, Mary Jones, Laura Curry, Trevor Jones; five great-grandchildren, Jordan Huffman, James Jones, Waylon Curry, Fallon Walker, and Addilyn Walker.

A funeral service will be conducted Friday, February 14, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Central Full Gospel Church with Rev. Bobby Norman and Rev. Bud Laws officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
