Brett Somers

Mr. Daniel Brett Somers, age 37, passed away Monday, May 30, 2022 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital in Elkin.

He was born May 8, 1985 in Iredell County to Daniel “Danny” Somers and Shelly Allen Somers.  Brett was a loving and devoted husband, father and son. He was caring and loving and always willing to help others. Brett was employed with Shaver Wood Products.

He was preceded in death by maternal grandmother, Jewel Allen; paternal grandfather, Gerald Somers and uncle, Michael Allen.

Survivors include: his loving wife of 16 years, Jennifer Minton Day Somers of the home; daughter, Reagan Somers of the home; parents, Danny and Shelly Somers of N. Wilkesboro; maternal grandfather, Harold F. Allen, Sr. of Hamptonville; paternal grandmother, Clara Somers of Hamptonville; brothers, Tyler Somers and his wife Elisha of Hamptonville and Camron Somers of N. Wilkesboro; special friend, Nathan Mathis of Hamptonville; aunts, Tammy Wilcox and her husband Gary, Sheila Lester and her husband Joey, Angela Nixon and her husband Marty, Regina Henderson and her husband Tim, Patti Jeffries and Sherrie Hiatt and her husband Hal, and uncles, Barry Somers and his wife Janice and Fred Allen and his wife Charlotte-Anne.

A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Tim Henderson and Rev. Marty Nixon officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 3:30 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be made to Ebenezer Christian Children's Home, P.O. Box 1434, N. Wilkesboro, NC 28659.
