Frances Walsh

Mrs. Frances Ann Walsh, age 71, of Elkin passed away Thursday, April 4, 2019 at Chatham Nursing & Rehabilitation. Mrs. Walsh was born August 3, 1947 in Wilkes County to Albert and Mabel Absher Spicer.

Mrs. Walsh retired from the American Red Cross and a member the Eastern Star Elkin Chapter. Mrs. Walsh final wish was to go see Jesus.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Walsh; sister, Kathy Gail Spicer; and sister-in-law, Becky Spicer.

Survivors include: daughters, Michelle Walsh of Winston-Salem, Patricia Wagoner of Winston-Salem; brother, Leon Spicer of Jonesville; sisters, Wilma Ford of Jonesville, Doris Cleary and husband Jerry of Elkin; 3 granddaughters, Courtney Prevette, Christian Prevette, Lakyn Howard; 2 great grandchildren; several loving nieces and nephews; and many special friends.

A memorial service will be conducted Sunday, April 7, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Mrs. Walsh’s nephew, Graylon Spicer, officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
