Georgia Jolley Transou

Mrs. Georgia Jolley Transou, age 89, passed away Friday, March 10, 2023 at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.

Mrs. Transou was born December 12, 1933 in Wilkes County to Reece and Estelle Rose Jolley.

Mrs. Transou was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church; she enjoyed reading the Bible and read it through 14 times. She was active in the church until her health declined. Mrs. Transou graduated from Elkin High School.

Mrs. Transou retired from Chatham Manufacturing Company.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Transou was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Transou; a sister, Rosemble Gentry; brothers and sisters-in-law; Benny and Betty Jo Jolley, Osee and Violet Durham Jolley; brother, Robert Jolley; brothers-in-law and spouses, Bob and Velda Transou, Turner and Christa Lee Transou; sister-in-law and spouse, Agnes and Rex Hayes.

Survivors include: daughters and son-in-law, Lori and Donnie Wells of Jonesville, Frankie Pardue of Elkin; sisters-in-law and spouse, Havalyn Jolley of State Road, Dorothy Jean and husband Dusty Bryant of Jonesville; numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Dr. Danny Dodd officiating.

The family requests no food or flowers; memorials may be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 593 Pleasant Hill Dr., Elkin, NC 28621, or Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Rd, Dobson, NC 27017.

The family would like to thank the exceptional caregivers Denise Cheek, Becky Bray, Vanessa Moody, Heather Renegar, Andrea Wagoner, Billie Jo Carter, Chris Parker, and Susan Nance for their care.
