Kay Coleman Hayes

Mrs. Kay Coleman Hayes, age 79, of Conover passed away Thursday, June 15, 2023 at Fry Regional Medical Center in Conover.

Mrs. Hayes was born December 30, 1943 in Pike County, Kentucky to John Varney Coleman and Susie Bell Hollins Coleman.

Mrs. Hayes attended Island Ford Baptist Church and retired from Lucia. She was a coal miner’s daughter and enjoyed westerns and music.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brothers; Robie Coleman, Edwin Coleman, Donald Coleman and Roger Coleman; sisters, Pat Hall and Jeanette Robinson.

Survivors include: sons; David Hayes and wife Cynthia of Winston Salem, Gary Hayes and wife Gina of Boonville; daughter, Lisa Tepper and husband Tom of Conover; brother, Arthur Thomas Coleman of Tennessee; grandchildren, Logan Hayes, Ethan Hayes, Hayley Hayes, Dawson Hayes, Bradley Tepper, Bennett Tepper and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, June 17, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Island Ford Baptist Church with Dr. Charlie Kennedy officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.  prior to the service.
