Linda Moody

Mrs. Linda Irwin Moody, age73, of State Road passed away Friday, October 29, 2021 at her home. Mrs. Moody was born May 25, 1948 in Surry County to Joe Dobson and Lillie Royal Irwin.

Mrs. Moody was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church and co-owner of Moody’s Garage in State Road.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers-in-law, Maxie Martin and Clarence Moody.

Survivors include: her husband of 55 years, Kenneth Moody of the home; son, Brian Moody and wife Sandy of State Road; daughter, Scarlett McCormick and husband Jimmy of Dobson; brother, Joe Dickie Irwin and wife Pat of Sparta; sisters, Shirley Martin of Elkin, Deborah Norman and husband Dollie of Mountain Park; grandchildren, Jade Kiger and husband Anthony, Chase McCormick and wife Megan, Bryson Moody, Kaylin Moody; great-grandchildren, Mason Kiger, Anistyn Kiger, Elyn Kiger, Lillian McCormick; numerous nieces and nephews; and special pet, Sally.

A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church with Rev. John Attaway and Rev. Dylan Cook officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service.
