Lonnie Harrison Pardue

Mr. Lonnie Harrison Pardue, age 78, of Thurmond, NC, was taken peacefully by his Heavenly Father on Friday, April 14, 2023. He was surrounded by his loving family. Lonnie was born November 10, 1944 in Surry County to Albert Harrison Pardue and Hattie Couch Musgrove.

He retired after 44 years of service with Chatham Manufacturing Co. He loved working in his flowers and was an avid gardener. He enjoyed sharing his abundance with family and friends. In his early years, he loved hunting, fishing and camping.

In their early years of marriage, Lonnie and Virginia opened their home to several young children and tried to pass on love and traits to live by. Lonnie was very devoted and extremely proud if his family. He was affectionately referred to as ‘pa.”  Lonnie lived every day in the faith, hope and love of the Almighty God and stood steadfast in his faith,

In addition to his parents, Lonnie was preceded in death by brother, Roy Cleveland Pardue; niece, Kelly Pardue; great niece, Savannah and baby, Ivan; and great nephew, Dillon Hawkins.

Left to cherish his memory: his wife of 59 years, 9 months and 2 days, Virginia Hall Pardue of the home; son, Michael Harrison Pardue and his wife Jessica of Thurmond; daughter, Robin Caroline Pardue of Thurmond; granddaughters, Laken Hope Pardue of Hays and Alexis Janece Rae Pardue of Thurmond; grandson, Carter Harrison Pardue of Thurmond; sister, Linda Tulbert and her husband Jim of Winston-Salem; brother-in-law, Dewitt Hall and his wife June of State Road; special great nephew, Derrick Hawkins; special cousin, Chris Johnson; special nieces, Kelly Martin and her husband Kevin and Lisa Bowman (Steve); special family friend, Victoria Young and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Thursday, April 20, 2023 from 5:00-6:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service. A family led graveside service will follow at 6:30 p.m. at State Road Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 7023, Merrifield, Virginia 22116-7023 or the American Lung Association, National Direct Response, PO Box 756, Osceola, WI 54020-0756.
