Margie Peele Stone

Margie Peele Stone, age 83, of Elkin passed away Saturday, November 18, 2023, peacefully at her home.

Margie was born September 23, 1940 in Yadkin County to Charlie and Nellie Crews Peele.  She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents Margie was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Stone Sr. and a brother Junior Peele.

Margie is survived by a son, James Edward Stone Jr. and wife Teresa of Ronda, a daughter, Tracy Stone Crossland and husband Keith of Chicago, IL; sister, Tona Sturdivant; brother-in-law John Mathis;  grandchildren, Ashley Blackburn and husband Randall, Amber Cockerham and husband Joshua; great grandchildren, Annaston Blackburn, Jeremiah Cockerham and Rowan Blackburn, Ada Blackburn, Lilly Cockerham, Matthew Cockerham; nephews, Nick Reavis and wife Sabrina, Jesse Reavis, Kenny Mathis, Greg Mathis and family; and special cousins, Louise Berrier, and  Dianne Wood.

A memorial service will be conducted Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Dr. Danny Dodds officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
