Nancy Carolyn Durham Wilson

Mrs. Nancy Carolyn Durham Wilson, age 62, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2023 at her residence in Elkin.

Nancy was born October 12, 1960 in Surry County to John Calvin Durham and Martha Howard Durham.

Nancy was a member of Union Baptist Church in Hamptonville and a graduate of Starmount High School. She was an avid animal lover and loved the outdoors and walking. Following a career in banking, Nancy served with the Elkin Fire Department.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include: her husband of 39 years, Kevin Wilson of the home; son, Todd Wilson of Elkin; brothers, Timothy Durham and his wife Kathi of Stony Point, Charles Durham of Hamptonville; sister, Rebecca Welborn of Greensboro; sister-in-law, Tia Schweikert and her husband Mark of Elkin; nephews, William Welborn and his wife Brittany, Patrick Welborn, Doug Durham; niece, Maia Schweikert; and great-nephew, Matthew Welborn.

A memorial service will be conducted Sunday, April 23, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Kenny Gunn officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Elkin Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, P.O. Box 857, Elkin NC 28621 or to the donor’s choice of charity.
