Mrs. Peggy Norman Tucker, age 83, of State Road passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Tucker was born February 27, 1938 in Surry County to Maynard and Nannie Walker Norman.
Mrs. Tucker was a devoted, life-long member of Mining Ridge Baptist Church and loved serving the Lord. She was a hard worker, and she retired from Lucia in Elkin. Mrs. Tucker was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her family was always a priority. She and her twin sister, Bonnie, shared a special bond and always loved dressing alike.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.W. Tucker; stepdaughter, Sherri Burchette; brother-in-law, Carroll Gray; and sister-in-law, Rosa Mae Norman.
Survivors include: her son, Randy Prim and wife Pat of State Road; brother, Wayne Norman and wife Shirley of Elkin; twin sister, Bonnie Gray of State Road; granddaughter, Stephanie Prim Minton and husband Logan; great-granddaughter, Caroline Minton; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted Thursday, December 16, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Mining Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Kenny Wood and Rev. Terry Longworth officiating. Mrs. Tucker will lie-in-state Thursday from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service.
