Rev. Dennis Ray Ball

Rev. Dennis Ray Ball, age 76, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2023 at Wilkes Regional Hospital.

Rev. Ball was born August 20, 1946 in Highcoal, West Virginia to Roman Franklin and Bertha Ethel Ellison Ball. Rev. Ball began his 40-year ministry in 1980 at Castalia Baptist Church in Castalia, NC. Rev. Ball served locally as interim pastor at Poplar Springs Baptist Church, Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, Pleasant View Baptist Church, Cool Springs Baptist Church, Rock Springs Baptist Church, Simmons Grove Baptist Church, Mountain View Baptist Church and Fairview Baptist Church. He also served in several positions in Baptist Associations.

In addition to his parents, Rev. Ball was preceded in death by brothers David Mitchum, Larry Ball, Lesley Ball; and sister Linda Ball. Survivors include: wife Becky Ball of the home; sons Hudson Ball of North Wilkesboro, David Ball and wife Huilan of Asheboro; daughters Beth Ball of Orlando, Florida, Jenny Hall of North Wilkesboro; brother Lyle Ball of Green Acres, Florida; sister Danita Moradi of Orlando, Florida, and grandchildren Kory Hall, Liam Hall, Nathaniel Hall and Tristan Ball.

A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. John Newton and Rev. John Attaway officiating.

The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service.

The family thanks the many friends and church members for the love shown to the family during Dennis’ illness.
