Wanda Anderson

Mrs. Wanda Byrd Anderson, age 78, of Traphill passed away Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Anderson was born April 14, 1943 in Wilkes County to Raymond O. Byrd and Bessie Luffman Byrd.

Mrs. Anderson was a member of Knobbs Baptist Church and owner of Maple Hill Grocery. She was a loving, caring, and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Anderson, Sr; sons, Bobby Joe Anderson and Donnie Ray Anderson; daughter, Debera Anderson; granddaughters, Miranda Richardson, Shyann Anderson, and Chanda Prevette; grandson, Joey Anderson; brothers, Aldean Byrd, Dexter Byrd, Randy Byrd, Danny Darrell Byrd, and Stephen Byrd.

Survivors include: her son, Billy Junior Anderson and his wife Tammy; daughter, Deanna Swisher and her husband Harold; grandsons, Stephen Anderson and his wife Meshale, Daniel Barker, Chaise Swisher and his wife Kimberly, John Dean Byrd and his wife Candy, Dillon Byrd and his wife Nadalee; granddaughters, Crystal Anderson Denny, Rhonda Jane Anderson; great-granddaughters, Tyler Prevette, Haley Richardson, Gracie Martin, Sierra Blackburn, Courtney Anderson, Laci Anderson, Trista Denny, Olivia Denny, Whitlee Byrd; great-grandsons, Danny Anderson, Cannon Swisher, Cameron Anderson, Cayden Denny, Brody Martin, Dustin Prevette, Jacob Nance, Waylon Byrd; great-great grandchildren, Autumn Prevette, Marleigh Elledge, Holden Prevette, Clara Blackburn; niece, Candice Cheek; nephews, Jamie Byrd and his wife Marisa, Kenneth Byrd and his wife Ashley, Nathan Byrd, and Greg Byrd.

A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Knobbs Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Bauguess and Rev. Justin Norman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church.
